Designing Central, a series of creative events organised by PolyU’s School of Design to mark the opening of the revitalised 1939 avant-garde Central Market, kicked off in late September and will run into early January to promote Hong Kong’s creative designs as well as foster cross-sectoral cooperation.

The programme started with the screening of short films and documentaries on sustainable development and urban revitalisation, and will be followed by design project shows, social design workshops, and an “urban market” of 70 stalls showcasing creative products in and around the Central Market, Tai Kwun and PMQ areas.

The School of Design will work with over 1,400 students and 360 creative industry professionals or start-ups in the programme, aiming to attract more than 100,000 visitors to the exhibitions and markets.
